Like so many jazz and blues singers in North America, Marcus' roots began in the church and with Gospel Music. Whether singing solo or as part of the choir, it was clear to all who heard him that Marcus was meant to sing. Immediately after high school, Marcus followed the call to the Mission field. Over a ten year period this ?Call? gave Marcus the opportunity to sing in such places as South Vietnam, Germany, Switzerland, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Japan, Eastern Europe, and the South Pacific. |

Eventually Marcus made Vancouver, British Columbia his home, here he gave his debut performance, on the legitimate stage, in Vancouver’s’ longest running musical revue "Ain't Misbehavin." Marcus went on to star in several theatrical productions in B.C. and other Canadian provinces. Marcus even created, directed and performed in "It’s Time To Sing," A chronology of Black Gospel music starting from Slavery to the present time. He was nominated for a "Jesse" award for best performance in a musical. Another highlight in Marcus’ stage career was a fifteen month tour with Livents’ production of Show Boat. When the new millennium came a welcomed musical force came into Marcus' life in the person of Gail Suderman. A Mennonite girl that hails from Prince George with a love for Gospel Music and the voice and piano skills that Marcus says: "takes me back to my Pentecostal church home." They are building repertoire in preparation for CD and subsequent tour.
